Depends on the finishingstage of the model, beginning the project more then finishing it, but about an hour before I go to work and an hour after it. In the weekends I try to model as much as I can but then it's more of and on modeling...

Most of every day. I am retired and have all the time in the world to devote to models. That is when I'm not on Armorama.

It can vary a lot depending on work and home commitments but more often it can depend on my mood. I can go weeks with no more than a few hours modelling but then follwed by a spell with weeks where I model every day for at least 3 hours and up to 10 hours each day at the weekend. Usually after finishing a project... is the slows, but when a new project starts up ... theres no holding me back.

well it takes me about 2 weeks to build.
but there are days i dont even go to the work bench,
like i waite like 3 or days days to waite for the paint to dry.
but i do this so i dont get burned out cause years ago back in 1997 .
i use to spend hours at the bench and build right after another,
and that burned me out,
so i do it this way i dont get bruned out .
I'm on a medical disability .

I'm on a medical disability and no longer work. So, you would think I have plenty of time to model. Doesn't work out that way as my daughter is an RN and works 12 hour shifts at the Hospital and I end up baby sitting a two year old and five year old 12 hours a day, 5 days a week!

I'm lucky to get in five to ten hours of modeling a week.

In addition to that, my youngest daughter and her two kids moved back in and she is also an RN.

Due to my 3 different works wife, lil daughter and a lot of other commitments i dig up about 1/2 an hour every day or day by day and 2-3 hours in the weekend. So i finish a normal kit at about 6 weeks , one superdetailed and with AM stuff 8-10 weeks and if i plan to make a dio also the whole project will take up to 4 months (:-)

I'm looking at about two hours a day, four days a week. I am not married nor do I have many commitments other than work, which is an alternating three and four day week with twelve hour shifts....which is sweet.
For me, the key is to find the perfect balance where you know when to quite before you become ineffective. For me that's when I try to get things done just for the sake of getting them done. That's bad news. In the grand scheme who cares how long a project takes as long as it is enjoyable and you still have the desire to work on your project. For me it's all about the anticipation of get some time to model.
Sorry to hear you have to work 80 hrs/wk. I bet that makes that 2.5 hrs/wk very precious. Keep fighting the good fight brother!

5 to 15 hours a week depending on what is happening in my 'other life'. If I finish 5 models a year, I am doing real well. Of course, the complexity of a model has a lot to do with how long it takes to make. I usually have 2 or 3 going at once.

It depends on what part I'm doing. On airbrushing and/or spray painting, it can take as long as 5 hrs. Paintbrushing can be 1-3 hrs. Building the model, sanding and gluing about 2 hrs. Whenever I got a free time, I do them and those listed are my time limits.

Actually building and painting I think I easily get in better than 20 hours a week, when I am motivated. If you add in the time I spend at Armorama that figure goes way up.

Thanks for keeping me from building models...

Wow..lucky to get 10 hrs a month....but, the satisfaction i get from that little amount of time is...priceless. And with four kits going at once, i should have a finished kit by 05'
