Where will you be if this hobby never existed? As for me I'll be stuck in this computer and surfing the web. After a while, things gonna get boring without modeling...

I would still be out roming the mountians and streams with fishing rod and rifle in hand ! But the last several years I have been tide down at home , first raising my addopted grandson and now because I am unemployed. Modeling has been a blessing for me, It keeps my santity, and it turned into a great hobby for me.

Cheers,

ok their are 2 things.

1. I would do what so called "normal" people do.. spend all my money in the weekends.

2. I would be in a gang getting shot at the age of 22 :-)

hahaha I just love my hobby and I will never stop with it.

The first time I ever had a model kit, I didn't like it at first. Time passes by, and here I am! An insane modeler!

Got THAT right!

As for what I'd be'd doing if not for modeling probably spending money on books, which I still do somewhat. I'd also probably be doing more outdoor photography, just with my old film cameras since I doubt I'd have made the switch to digital yet. Before fingding this site I spent a LOT of time on The History Channel's WWII discussion board. Except for the fact I loathe it's newer format I'd probably still be haning out there as well.

For me, this has been a very affordable hobby. My old hobbies, one of them racing RC boats, was way out of my affordable range! And my wife is happy about that ! Besides it keeps me out of trouble, and out of the taverns. Spending most of my time at home with my family.

Cheers,
Garry

If modelling did not exist as we know it, I guess I would be carving models out of would and calling it sculpture.

Luckily this is not my only hobby. Music, photography and fly fishing are my other main interests. If all of them were not existing too I'm sure I'd be able to find something else...

Well, like others, I have a ton of hobbies. I Boy Scout (adult leader for 16 years so far) I'm a Historian love Sci-Fi but................. as Crossbow says... would have invented it. I am a builder by nature and have always modeled, from Sand castles to sculpting landscape for a train layout. Kids used to make airplanes and ships from cutting wood and gluing paper.

I would have shelf space in the up stairs closet (boxed kit storage), on the shelves in the computer room (completed models) God knows how much money and probably cirrhosis of the liver...

Oh, and I wouldn't have met all of you wonderful folks... Aw, shucks...

no modelling? thats like a pc with no plug! it just dun't work!
if there were no models i think id be spending money on my art stuff, books, other toys (hehe) and many long hours thinking of a way to invent modelling - i've done it since the age of 11 and my kids do it now too, so it accounts for many hours of fun and occupation.

the fact that we live in a tent and eat what we can catch due to the lack of money doesnt come into it....

I would be divorced. My in(out)-laws require so much of my wife's time that I'm often left home alone and/or it's hard to plan anything. Most guys would probably welcome that, but I don't, even with closing in on 25 years of marriage. Like I told the Mrs. years ago...." If it wasn't for my hobby, I'd be outta here!" (read: bored stiff)

Also for this same reason, I have canceled this December 25th. I'm just not doing it!

Hmmm... I would have a closet crammed with useless junk, instead of kits I fully intend to build one day, a lot fewer interesting tools and toys, and more time to sleep... not worth it, modeling is just too much fun, I'll catch on my sleep at work as usual

The world would be full of crazy people. No one would know what to do with their time besides sit and think about what to do with their time.

I would be a hermit living in his shack, daisy red ryder in hand, shooting chipmunks an gofers for food. I would also prick a shot at the ever passing by hiker to getem off my property. After a while, I would win the lottery, and spend some money on a new gun, posiibly a shotgun, but continue living in my shack.

wow.....good thing modelling is around!
