Won't it frost the clear part? I have done this with a matt finish on my M966 and it resulted in a frosted glass. Now, with a gloss coat, will it produce a shiny glass or another frosted one?

Matt coats are frosted because of the bumpy texture of the final finish. Gloss coats will be clear, however, I never gloss coat my clear parts more than a dip in some Future.

Not sure about the question, but I think your concerns are justified.
( I think the propellants and binders of the aerosol product could cause you some real greif)
I've only put Future/Klear over clear parts to heighten the gloss.

Hi ,
I hope it helps - I done it several times with my clear parts , is FutureClear bath - I put the parts in small glass with FutureClear , and take out on paper towel for dry - remember to put something on that clear part which will secure it from dust ( after bath ) ( maybe lid or box ) .

In the past I have applied Future to clear parts with a small brush. It worked great and it did not leave any marks. This method even fixes (hides) small scratches.

ALL past comments are true with this additional note:
YOU CANNOT use a laquer or enamel based clear. The solvents craze the clear part.
Any Acrylic cleaar gloss can be used. I personally like and use FUTURE floor polish

I'll definitely recommend giving the part a bath in Future and allowing it to dry. After a couple of days, once the Future has dried completely and settled in, you can give it a shine with very minute amounts of Brasso and buff with a soft cotton cloth.
I used this method for my crazed SHAR canopy recently for the WoW campaign, and the new canopy absolutely shines!!
Cheers,
BP.

For the clear parts use Future or Klear applied with a brush.

Do you have any alternative beside Future/Klear. It's not available here in our country

Don't worry used a Johnson's Solvent for Floor Gloss or similar a cheapest formula is buying something acrylic for House Wood Floor which making it shiny - is working like gloss clear .

I've just tried using a gloss coat (spray can) on my car kit and it didn't frost the clear parts! Now it has a nice shiny finish.
