The Warrior
In 1944, at the state funeral for the beloved general Erwin Rommel, the oration, prepared by Goebbels, ended with "his heart belonged to the Fuehrer." Even in death, Rommel was unable to break free of Adolf Hitler, to whom he owed his military career. Yet, Rommel joined a conspiracy to kill Hitler that cost him his life. We see what led to that point, and examine his tactical brilliance in both WWI and WWII, up to his dazzling desert victories in North Africa and promotion to Field Marshal in 1942. TV PG (2003)

Runs from 9:00 to 12:00 ET/PT

Just what the world needs, more Rommel...

I can think of a zillion military figures that I would love to see get some attention.

How about a Joe Stillwell documentary? Even Deitrich or something.

Not that I don't have an interest in Rommel, I do have three or four Rommel books on my shelves. Just would like some variety.

Met his son once...Manfred.

Saw the show. good one.

Re ordered my cable plan...removed all the movie channels, hbo showtime etc. instead got he expanded basic setup. Has history , news (me), lifetime (wife), cartoons (kids), the big four (abcnbccbspbs) and a bunch of others...much better deal.
