A friend of mine just purchased (for what reason I have no idea) an AN-M4 Compressor Unit Reciprocating Power-Driven Flamethrower.
We are trying to figure out what it actually is and what was this particular model used for. It only weighs about 20lbs and has shoulder harnesses on it. There is no air tank on it and the psi gauge goes up to 3000 psi. Could this have been for charging a tank in the field for a flame thrower?
I have attached some pics of it and we would greatly appreciate any info.
