okay so my brother in law will be arriving this 28th of Dec. so hopefully I can check this week some of things you asked me. I have to check Walmart since Future is much cheaper there. And Grandt Line is just a short distance from my sisters's place.. For the PE I'll call the hobby shop..

When I had my store, I would facilitate orders from customers items that were not readily available here. I usually order the Czech brand kits, PE sets and resin details and other odds and ends. I usually order from Squadron and Roll Models. I tried ordering from GreatModels but got pissed off at their system. Items on their online catalog don't always mean they have it in stock. They source from elsewhere and ship it to you when they get it. According to their policy, this can take anywhere from days to 6 months, which is the principle behind their "Availability" percentages. And the bad part is, they already charge your card even if they don't have the item yet. That's what pissed me off. Unlike Squadron and Roll, they only charge when the items are shipped. And I've never had a problem with regards to fraud since it's a secure site. The only thing is, I don't have the items shipped directly to me here in the Philippines since that's what usually kills you. They're shipped to a friend in San Francisco and I just "wait" for someone to take them home. Takes longer, but cheaper. And my customers didn't mind at all.

Hi Blitz,
I wonder if I can also make pasingit with some 1/72nd scale PE parts? By the way, how will we reimburse you? Bank wire transfer?
My list:
Eduard 22030 Cromwell Mk IV
Extratech EXV 72001 M1A1
Extratech EXK 7213 Maybach HL 230 P30 engine
Extratech EXB 72014 Nato Jerry Cans
I wonder if some of the above are available. I hope it won't be so much of a bother.
Merci beauoup,
Wanze

So far, I haven't seen any Extratech.. A lot of Eduard, Aber and Waldrons. OK regarding the reimbursement. As soon as you get the invoice and items and that's what you only have to pay. There no catch, just another Boy Scout's duty...hehe

Shonen,
You might want to check with Bull. In one of his posts in this thread he mentioned a "not-so-favorable" experience with them.

I'd already told about Bull about the thing I need. Too bad it wasn't available, or would it be Bull?? :-)

VERY BAD COMPANY( great model) DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE. take this as a warning. Try other online company. I personally order stuff from squadron mail order.

I second Homer's warning. Initially I had good results with GreatModels but then in one occasion, it just turned bad. It's their policies that are bad, especially their "Availability percentage". I just found their explanation lame.

I've already ordered from squadron, twobobs, meteorprod, and from luckymodels... Generally, yung shipping and handling yung papatay sa bulsa mo. Generally, around 10-20% ng price ng item (example, i bought an 1/32 Verlinden A-10 cockpit ($22), the shipping costs around $7). Generally, they add insurance para kung mawala, pwede mong habulin. What would be very important is the retail price ng item. If the item is around $50, you'd have to pay $30 customs tax (malas na nasa law to). And remember, lahat ng padala dadaan sa customs.

ganun talaga sa custom natin.. is there a way na parang palalabasin na parang "gift". Sa Ebay if I have the chance I always ask the EBay seller na ilagay sa Customs Declaration as "gift" kaya lang nga since mail-order they'll definitely put it as "purchase item"
the only thing na hindi na-check nang custom yung balikbayan boxes , tax exempted.

Try from Roll Models. Generally mas mura ang kits nila by 2-3 US$.
Dito sa Saudi, Kapag under US$100 and value ng ipinadalang item (certain exemptions) walang customs duties.
Siguro naman may exemptions diyan sa atin.
