I'm still all for it!! I have several ideas that I have been sitting on since the last campaign that I am dying to make. I posted the campaign idea on the other site pages and was hoping for more enthusiasm about the campaign. Anyway I will be ready to go with Build-A-Tool 3.

I'm in on this one. My line of track tools has taken off and proven to be far more successful than I ever imagined and I have a couple of more ideas in development now so I'll try them out here first.

So had this idea kicking in my brain for awhile, and the campaign gave me the impetus to get off my duff and do it.
This is a jig for assembling individual track links. It's adjustable to accommodate different sized links.
The links shown are Fruil because that was what was on the bench at the time, but the jig is really designed for non-workable plastic links.

here are some shots of the booth roughly from the start
Almost done with it now it does look a bit different i replaced the feet so it sits better on the rolling table I have it on, just need to make a cover for the fans to attach a filter and Version one is done, also here's a lazy susan I knocked up to go into it.
on a side note I was tempted to use a cooker hood as the main extraction but I had the fans lying around and all the other materials were scraps I had, the case it all goes in is an old printer stand I acquired from work which I should have added earlier.
any comments are welcome and encouraged.

Thanks sorta went abit OTT on it if im honest lol and no its not a fridge its an old printer stand I acquired from work. I felt it was the right sorta size for what I needed I have another one that I use for storage under my work desk, I have a habit of recycling old stuff for new uses, 90% of our work room has been made up from furniture I aquired for free or made. Waste not want not etc

That pretty much sums up my approach to things--learned it from from my Dad. There's a fine line between a hoarder and a pack-rat

My wife says they're one in the same......... Yet I do purge stuff every now & Again.
On another note, I picked up a dimmer and ordered a transformer last night to attempt making a hot wire cutter for foam. (Waiting on a coworker to bring in some used Guitar strings, after his band plays this weekend)

turned out rather well a nice simple way to change the filter
the filter goes over the first frame then the bigger one slots over to hold the filter in place
then the 2 frames slot over the fans and sorted

Why bother painting them when they'll be self-painting anyway

I got the on/off switch, dimmer switch, power indicator light & fuse holder all assembled into the housing. the transformer is ordered for it... and a co-worker should be bringing me a few slightly used guitar strings for a starting point. I'm hoping to start wiring it tonight, (after picking up some wire. Hopefully pics tonight or tomorrow morning.

You guys are shaming me....I slapped a couple of bits of MDF together and called it good, while Matt and Neil are busy working on the next Apollo program!

I have a few ideas that are nothing more than gluing some MDF together as well..... Just not sure when I'll get to that one.
