I am sitting here working on my M24 and watching this movie. I am not a Shermaholic, but it is pretty neat seeing all the various tanks they put together for this film.

From my fairly uneducated 'eye', it looks like they tried to make all the Shermans look like Firefly's. With the cast body, welded and even maybe a hybrid. Also noticed a Chaffee and either a M10 or M36.

Amazing how much old equipment they were able to get together for the movie!

Yeah it is fun to search out movies for the vehicles being used.

here is a link to the Image car Database which has the vehicles used for a bridge too far.
Bridge too far vehicles

Check out the "beauty" of a SdKfz 222 that they made specifically for this movie. And the 231 looks pretty special as well.

Here is some more "A Bridge Too Far" equipment information, as far as links go...

This one is really neat. It is a pdf showing a bunch of surviving Sherman Firefly's around the world. Mentions trying to get pictures of one from the movie.

John you should check this out http://www.archive.org/details/TheirsIsTheGlory1946 it's the film made in 1946 by British Paras at Arnhem for which they had to use a bridge painted onto glass for any shots that would show the bridge in the back ground. It even features a Panther!

Good film if you can get a copy or down load it.
