Any tips on how to use pastels for weathering?

Hi shonen
I use pastels a lot on my aircraft and love them. :-)
I keep a range of colours - white, greys, browns and black. Rub the pastel stick on a piece of wet 'n dry paper and apply with a soft, dry brush (I keep a couple of brushes specially for pastels).
Pastels work better over a matt finish - it gives them something to "grip".
By blending colours, you can create really subtle shading... and you can always wash it off if you don't like the result!
Brush of the excess and seal with a clear coat. The effect of the pastels is usually made more subtle by the varnish.
Hope this helps
