We get alot of folks asking "How do I put my pictures in the forums for all to see?"
I hope that this little guide will help you to achieve picture posting success.

Go to the site that hosts the pictures you would like to post, and place the mouse cursor over the image.

"Right " click the mouse button while the cursor is over the image and a dialog box will appear. Select "Properties" located at the bottom, and "left" click.

Another larger dialog box will appear showing the "Address (URL)" of the image in the middle of this box. Carefully move the mouse cursor to the very left of the address until it's shape looks similar to a thin capital letter "I" . Press and hold the "right" button and drag the cursor towards the right and downwards until the entire URL address is highlighted.

When the highlighting of the url's addrress stops responding, you've captured it all.

Now that the URL's address is completely highlighted, place the cursor over the highlighted address and "right" click. You guessed it, another dialog box appears. Select "Copy".

Now go to the post in which you wish to place the image. Type your message or what have you and press the "return" key on your keyboard so as to have the cursor on a new line. Select the little button under the posting window on the right side that has the text "img" in it.

An image tag line will appear in your post with the text "http://put.url.here/image.file" in between the tags. Place your cursor at the beginning of this text, "left" click and hold and drag across until that text is highlighted (see pic below). "Right" click anywhere on top of the highlighted text and choose paste. The text will be replaced with the image's URL Addresss that you copied earlier.

Viola. There you have it in a nut shell... I hope. As usuall, if you need more help, ask away.

Thanks Ken, I was going to attempt something like this but I think you did it way better than I could have. Trying the tell someone where to right click, drag, left click, paste, etc. loses something in translation. If a picture is worth a thousand words, your post is worth about 10,000 words. Outstanding.

Good instructions.

For those with a Mac, and if you are running OS10, you click and hold if you are using the standard Apple mouse as opposed to right clicking.

Just in case there are other enlightened computer users...

Nice job Ken. We will add this to the Photography and Digital Imaging area as a feature.

Cheers,

Thanks all for your comments. I do hope that this will help those that are having trouble with understanding all the right/left, copy/paste clicks. I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Is it?

Sandbox, unfortunetly, no. But you still have options. One of them being a member of this site. With your site membership you have 3 megs of storage space on the "www", where they need to be for hosting to be possible. Just click on the "My Gallery" button on the bottom of your posts.

Just ventured into this thread - there goes another Pat on the back for Kencelot - yet another reason why he earned the UOM award.

Good job.

Simply repeat the proceedure. Make sure to open the picture you want, otherwise you will just post the thumbnail :-)
