Hey everyone!

My name is Alexander, I'm 17 years old and have been modeling for like 5 years or so.
I have only started to actually get good so don't be too hard on me. I just found Armorama but I have seen quite a few tutorials here while browsing the web trying to find ways to improve my models!

My main interest is Radio control planes. As for modeling, I collect/paint/build/scratchbuild mostly in 1/18 scale. The company that made the large scale vehicles/plane/figures is gone now but the models are still around (21st century toys). THey are very big also! That's part of the reason I love them!!! They are not museum quality but okay for a large size. Great bases for super detailing though!!!! The figures are basically action figures but I still paint them and display them! It is fun in a way to have poseable figures. I do model is smaller scales like 1/35. 1/32, 1/72, ect.. but not as much. I just like the big stuff!
Anyway, here is some of my work! I have LOTS more to come including a MASSIVE battle of the bulge diorama. Yo will get to see little bits of it as I continue!

Welcome to the forum Alex.

Your models are very impressive. You are worlds beyond where I was at 17.

Keep those photos coming.

Pepsi cans FTW!

Are you soldering yet? I think you glued the hangars to the metal skirts on the PzIV? If not, you really need to learn soon. Your modelling looks awsome and you don't look afraid to scratch. Soldering will allow you to do whatever you want with good strong joints.

Very nice!

I did indeed glue them... In fact, the whole rack is held by super glue, lots of it too. LOL Yea, I do not work with metal much, I have the soldering stuff I need but only really use it for RC/wiring/ect... I really should try to work with brass and aluminum more!

Weller 12W Workman:

This isn't the only brand, but they work well. Get yourself a nice dragon kit and a voyager/girffon/allianceMW set and go to town.

You may have trouble with clasps, hinges, and full etch fenders; but everything else should be simple given what you have posted!

Quite impressive for 17. You must have a few years under your belt, from the quality of your builds. Welcome to the site. Hopefully, I will be able to advance my skill by following your builds.

What are MW sets? I think I will try a 1/32/35 or 1/72 kit soon. I have never actually done one. I think it could be loads of fun!!!!!

I might start with one from Dragon or Tamiya.
