Wasn't Glenn Miller shot down over the channel by friendly fire? Hubby said that he read somewhere that the Brits thought his plane was a German bomber. After they shot the plane down as realized they made a boo boo, they covered it up. Is that true? At least to your best knowledge. I didn't get to watch the program on the History Channel.

Thanks Jim. I'm like you, not sure what story to believe.

He may have been "in the mood" prior to this event, but he sure wasn't in the modd for what was to come. This sounds like a major, and typical WW2 Snafu, airforce style!
