Indeed, this is a big bummer for anyone who has been hit with it. Two of my co-workers have been hit with it.

If only they'd use their powers for good rather than evil. They could develop programs that would track down spammers and dip their toothbrushes in the toilet. They'd probably get a government grant for that.

I got infected with it on monday. Yesterday morning, in a state of panic, I transported my CPU down to a local computer store thinking there was some problem with the CPU, however my wife, who had just seen a report on FOX news, suggested it may have been the Blaster Virus. As i walked in the door, the technician, told me that I had Blaster...problem solved in 5 minutes.....Jim

All three of my computers at home are affected by it. If I could find the buggers who did this they'd be singing soprano from now on.

The biggest problem I'm having is I can't download the patch in time before the thing reboots. I've put it on floppy now and I'll try it when I get home tonight. A co worker also said to try changing the date on the computer to 2002, then go online to download the patch. I'll try that also.

Halfyank - go to the Task Manager (right click on task bar) and end process msblast running on your machine, then search your machine for file named "msblast.exe" "msblaster.exe" delete all you find. No it wasn't me either I got this out of the OC Register Business section.
