That sounds like a cool idea! Just how to attach the sand paper to the brush? Hmmm...

Welcome aboard Teternal. Thanks for the idea. :-)

DOH... How simple is that.... Great idea for a sander... As for attaching the sandpaper.. How about trimming about half the bristles off the toothbrush, just to stiffen them up.. take a strip of sandpaper just wide and long enough to wrap around the brush end... Then a small piece of duct tape to hold the sand paper... Think it would work??

Great idea!!

As to how to connect the paper. There are a bunch of new mouse sanders (so named because of thier size) and they have either tacky or velcro backs. You can get velcro strips that have glue on the reverse side. So, you might take the bristles all the way off of any put down one side of the velcro and apply it to the brush and then stick paper to the other side.
You can cut the velcro to custom shapes and sizes to really get worked in tight spaces etc.

The stuff for Automotive sanding discs should work. It comes in a "toothpaste" type tube.

This was actually a tip seen in the latest Scale Auto magazine (at least thats where I saw it).

The guy took a crest power tooth brush....cut all the bristles off of it, attached a piece of sponge to the part that oscilates, then used rubber cement to attach a disc of sand paper to the sponge.

You have to make sure that you don't get the "Pro" model of crest toothbrush as apparently the bottom bristles oscilate up and down as well...where as the normal one only the top part oscilates.

I think he said total invested was like $4 For that amount of money.....buy 3 or 4 of them and have different grades of sandpaper on each one.
