Yep, about 99% of the time it is a really good idea. Takes next to no time, its free, so why not? Especially if you are using CA.

Yes, it'll tell you if it really fits or not.

I agree with the above. In fact, I think it should be mandatory.

Hi, I definitely agree with all the other posters. Dry fitting is a very good practice to get into. Each step as you go along. Just like reading and studying the instructions before starting a model, any model. Just because part 'a' is suppose to fit to part 'b', doesn't mean it will.
Manufactuers do a real great job molding parts that basically work real well together, but every now and then you are going to run into something that, because of warpage, esp. thin resin parts, or worn molds at the manufacturer's, things just don't go together as they should. And it doesn't do you or the model any good if you have to pull things apart once you have glue on them a time or two just to get the pieces lined up better.
Another real good idea here. Before starting a model check on this site or others and see if someobdy else has built the kit and what recommendations they have in building it and what to watch out for while putting that particular manufacturer's kit together. It's saved my butt at least a time or two on every model I've built since I starting doing this.
Take care, sgirty

The United Nations dryfit inspectors are being dispatched, even as I type.
They will fan out globally to search for Methods of Mass Dryfitting.
Please have your modeling rooms open and prepared for inspection.
Oh,I hear a knock on my door.

Let me clear up one thing that seems to be missed. Dry fit in sections. DO NOT pull off everything at once and dry fit it. Dry fit in stages. Check a small assembly.... dry fit, trim it to perfection, dry fit one last time, then glue it. If you pull off every part and dry fit the entire model, small parts can become confused, lost, or broken.

I'm with blaster76 on this one. I dryfit only at the time the subsection needs to go in. Otherwise I'd be left with a landscape littered with so many small parts, I wouldn't know which one was which.
I use a variant of Blu-Tak called All-Stick to keep the parts together.
Cheers,
BP.

I agree with all of the above posters that dry fitting is a must. Not only will you see if it fits correctly, but you may get lucky and find out the you my not need some glue at all. On some kits because the parts may fit well enough not to use it.
