Michael,

Yes, you are right. I was speaking as Goerring would have commanded the Luftwaffe. Yes, Hitler made the decree, Goerring gave the order. Thats what I was saying. :-)

A couple comments

- Most of US lend-lease to USSR went thru the Persian Gulf and Iraq, not north of Scandinavia to Murmansk. Some went thru Valdivostok till Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

- Would the Germans continue to manufacture so many U-boats if there are no convoys to England?

hey chip i all though abou this,
i think eruope would be really difrent to day,
and they war would have lasted to say 46 or 47.
plus hitker made a lot of mistakes,
he should have listened to his gens and fild mashalls,
plus they should have not went in to russia, that was the breaking point,.
i think if they did notgo to russia they would have went to england

Tazz, you sound positively disappointed.... I doubt anyone will ever know just how many died in WW2, I also don't think any of us can imagine the suffering caused. I'm sorry but your post sounds rather nostalgic. If you have studied SEELOWE, you would realise just how unlikely a proposition it actually was. I also suggest you start reading some serious history and not fall into the traps set by popular (i.e. brainless) culture...Jim
