Hi all!
Some of the guys thought I should make a post on this so here goes: Since 29. October I am officially a proud father of a little girl, Lina. Of course she will take some time off my modeling but I still hope to have some time once in a while...

Congratulations Stefan. Speaking from experience my daughter-7years old hasn't put too much of a crimp in my modelling. I trained her early not to touch my stuff and occasionally letting her play with old figures or making a Tamiya Dinosaur together keeps her happy + I'm currently building a petshop for her Sylvanian families using Blockhaus's building technique

Congratulations Stefan! Welcome to the exciting work of parenthood. But enjoy it while you can as the time goes very fast. My son moved out on his own about 20 years ago and to this day I still miss hanging out with him.

Better start trading your models in and buying a shotgun and shells.......you'll need them in a few years to keep the boys at bay.
Seriously, you have a beautiful daughter. I echo that they grow up real fast. Enjoy every moment.

Congratulations to you Stefan, and your wife, and welcome to Lina. She is certainly a beautiful girl. They do grow up fast so cherish every moment. My girls are 17 and 11, my boys 7 and 4, and the chaos in the house is just wonderful !!

Hi all! Thanks all for the good wishes. I'm sure I'll find a way to keep a few projects going in my cave. Hopefully.
No trading necessary, as I am Swiss I already have a fully automatic assault rifle supplied by the Swiss army at home... Oh, not to forget the Swiss Army knife...

Congrats Stefan on your choice of new model. I've got 4 of them myself and thought I'd share some of my experience.
Unlike a normal model kit, these cannot be left in the stash until you feel like doing it. It just looks so appealing from the moment you get it, you have to start work immediatly. After the first few minutes of handling and wondering "what do I do next" it will consume every free minute and franc you have. The initial build work was easy and fun ;-) 9 months ago (although Mother might disagree), but the application of a camo scheme is time consuming and needs constant changing 2 or 3 time a day. There are a wide varity of after-market accessories that have to be bought and you still won't be 100% satisfied...you will be buying AM sets for the next 20 years. You have now started on a project which will never be complete, a constant work-in-progress, but will still be the most rewarding and enjoyable "build" you have ever done......
Good Luck and enjoy!

Sean, I almost cracked when I read your post! Never thought about it that way... You're right, there is a huge amount of AM-stuff out there, especially for girls... Hope the Wife won't look at it as a kit or it would go on to my modeling budget...
Modeling time is limited now, especially since I have to go to the basement for that with no means of communication...
Thanks for the comments and wishes everyone!

Hey congratulations Stefan!
This is a tough project though - no instructions, and you'll be buying expensive aftermarket items for the next 18 years!
I have 4 girls and 1 boy, in that order. Ron is right; good luck, you're going to need it!

God bless you and your family Stefan. She's a beautiful baby. As a father of 2 boys all I can say is, spend every second you possibly can with her. You'll never regret it.

Congratulations Stefan, may I suggest that you find some very delicate moulding material & take some copies of her hands & feet (Have a chat with a friendly dentist for help in finding the solution.) Cast off some copies & even frame them.you will be surprised at how quickly they grow so if you like the idea do it ASAP,(makes a great present for grandparents too) Kids donīt come in a box & there are no instructions but as with models enjoy the build because there will be enough time to appreciate the finished model. ( by the way casting & moulding is a great way to get some practice in for when they are older & you have more time on your hands ,but thatīs our secret because my wife thought it was a sweet idea from a loving father when I did it LOL .)

Thank you all for the kind words. It's been three weeks already and we're having a great time with her.
Mike, thanks for the tip, sounds great! I'll check out the appropriate section when I get to a supply store next time!
Cheerio everyone!

Congradulations to both new dads. Time will drag on untill you suddenly wake up one day and find a young woman there and not a child. Cherish evey day you have with them. I wouldn't trade a single day with my daughter for anything. I have taken her on the road a few times and it was some of the best memories I have with her. And one of the best parts of raising a child, is the oppertunity to share your wisdom and love with them. My little girl ( no matter how old they get, they are always daddy's little girl ) has been an absolute joy in my life though she moved out on her own a few years ago. My day is always happier when she calls to say, I'm o.k. and I love you. The only thing I disliked was when she would blink those baby blue eyes and smile at me and of course it turns us to a mushy fool. Hell, she's the only one allowed too. But really, I love it.
