I know that cast for world leaders has been taken, so I was thinking. Why don't you tell who you would cast for your movies that you said you would like to see made. Imagine yourself as the next Stevie Speilberg, and say who you would have cast.

I wrote that I would like to see a movie made about the Hanoi Hilton (one thats actually pretty cool) and I said that I would have Julianne Moore as the wife of the THUD pilot that got shot down.
The pilot could be Kirk Acevedo from Band of Brothers (Joe Toye)

Just a thought, lets hear what you have to say.

I would love to make a movie about the Falklands air war. As for who to cast, Bob Hoskins as Admiral Woodward and Antonio Banderas as Air Force Brigadier General Basilio Lami Dozo.

My movie would be a based-on-a-true-story about the Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä, aka White Death. The main character would have maybe two lines in the whole movie and it would be a documentary-style, hand-held camera, lots of waiting in the woods...A kind of a samurai movie.
Action would be seen from his POV, so there would be no slo-mo-action or anything fancy.
For international distribution it would be good to have a known actor for the main role.
I would cast Tim Roth as Häyhä, as he is always very talkative and this time he wouldn´t be permitted to talk much. A great actor by the way.
And I would like Jim Jarmusch to direct it.

How about a remake of Benedict Arnold starring Martin Sheen in the title role with sound track by the Dixie Chicks and Susan Sarandon playing his wife.

A re-make of the 300 Spartans... Hell I would be thrilled if they just put the original out on DVD.

...but you are sullying the name of Benedict Arnold with that cast. He sure did alot more for the Revolution than the above mentioned actors ever did....
(up until, of course, when he tried to sell out West Point to the Lobsterbacks)

It looks like the 300 Spartans is a new release so there is hope. I finally found a dvd of the original Jason and the Argonauts at the DVD planet site. Still praying for Once an Eagle, though I do have a contact that will copy and mail to you for $45 on tape

A quote from Envar's feature here on Armorama...

The Suomi SMG would be displayed, I was sure of that. I was before my grandpa told me about the legendary sniper Simo Häyhä aka "White Death". In fifteen weeks during the war, he took out 500+ Russians with his Mosin-Nagant rifle. He never used a scope. That may be the reason he still lives. A sniper without a scope can keep his head a few critical inches lower...

Häyhä survived an exploding bullet in the face, but his war was fought.
