Working on Revell's AC-47 made me want to build more big planes. I just pre-ordered their B-24D, due out in in October. This made me want to ask, if you could have a kit (plastic) of any aircraft in 1/48 scale, which would you ask for? Let's assume that cost doesn't matter, and you have plenty of space to hang the model from the ceiling or build a huge dining room table sized diorama for your plane, if you prefer that (I suppose most people are going to want some kind of gigantic bombers, transports or helis, but maybe not). What would you want to build?

Hi there

I'm modest in my tastes, so I'll go for a mainstream kit of the Fw 189. If I can cheat and add a couple more wants, it would be the Hawker Hart family and a Fisher (X)P-75 Eagle.

All the best

I'd love to see one of the flying boats from Martin or Boeing, or both. I would also like to see Tamiya add a P-47N to their lineup, and a C model to boot.

I would love to see a new tool F-5E and F-5F and a OV-10A and OV-10D! Also a E-2, P-3, and S-2. A new tool A-6 family would be awesome too. How about a PB4Y-2 out of the box? Going back to pre WW2, a Curtis F6C and F7C

going for the esoteric... A B-32!

How About a 1/48 B-47, or a B-58. I always liked both of these. I remember building both of them when I was about 11 years old. They were Revell kits, if my mind is working at the moment. That would be good size, cause you could put a lot of detail into something that size.

Now this is easy as apart from an OOP vacform and a hard to get vacform that cost £50ish there is no kit of the Supermarine Scimitar in 1/48

So there you have it a Supermarine Scimitar.

I'd also like a BAe Jetstream and DH Dove

I could think of a lot of Swedish aircrafts that I would like in 1/48:
J-21, J-22, B-17,B-18, J-29, J-32, and then a Westland Whirlwind that is not a limited-run kit.

If you are talking about the old B 58 Hustler from the 80's that was a Monogram kit. I have one and am waiting for the (some) day when I have the room to build and display it! ....oh and I would like an updated Tornado and F 105G.!

Getting away from military, I would love to see a Super Constellation in 1/48 scale. Just imagine, it would be a monster of a kit, the detailing possibilities would be endless. I will keep dreaming though....

For myself, I think a 1/48th scale Connie would be great also. Also, an Ilyushin IL-28 "Beagle" jet bomber, a giant Mi-26 helicopter, and the piece de resistance, a 1/48th airship. Nothing too grand, but a 1915 British SS-class anti-submarine Sea Scout or some other smaller WW1 airship would really be something impressive to see in big scale, hanging from the ceiling. The SS-3 was a one hundred forty-three footer.
