A chuckle at the expense of my many Brit mates...
Beaches too sandy, fish scare the kids: it's a Fawlty Towers world for some tourists

I don't follow test Cricket, but I do recall you Poms forcing a draw in the first test. Anyway, we thumped you in the 1 dayers, which is the kind of cricket I prefer.
Besides, why would I be jealous of a cloudy, cold, miserable island nation (and that's just the people) that serves bland food and warm beer?
No dear boy, the above post is merely a continuation of the original post - which you'll note was published well before the Ashes started.

Very funny! My family and I left Wrexham in 1976 for Canada, me being the youngest I think I escaped the typical British...shall we say...."resistance to anything different". My parents actually boycotted HP sauce here because "there's garlic powder in the Canadian one". Whenever relatives come over they want to go for fish n chips and watch something called "telly"! Meanwhile Vancouver is one of the nicest places for outdoors stuff!

All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Australians ever done for us?

Fosters Lager isn't as popular in Australia as foreigners might think (probably due to the brand's marketing overseas). Actually, I don't recall having seen anyone drink it when I've been out and about on the crawl.

The reason for this is that Fosters is actually marketed and sold here in Aus as baby formula, once the kidlets reach 12 months or so they move on to VB.

hihihihiHeHeHeHAHAHAHAHh,........
:D
And I allways thought that the Dutch were loud, ill mannered, obnoxious, wining and complaining travelling-idiots........
You Brits have us beat at our "own" game...
But seriously though...
What ever anyone says, neither the Aussies, the Brits nor the Dutch can brew a decent beer.
For that you really have to go to my southern neighbours for a fine, stark beer that your tatstebuds can feast on or to my eastern neighbours for a refreshing, clear, uplifting real-man's beer...
The Belgians and Germans resp.
and one for everybody
cheers y'all!!

Two things I liked about this.
One: "Another woman wrote in to complain that her plane journey was a disappointment because the sky was far too cloudy, impeding the view for her and her children and spoiling their game of eye-spy." Now, unless they were flying over on a Dragon Rapide and taking three weeks to do it, how high up would that aircraft have been? "I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with ... C!"
Two: the comments. Much more sensible and measured than they would have been if, say, the Mail had published an equivalent story about tourists in the UK.
Ron - if you can't find a decent beer in Britain, you ent looking hard enough.
