Found this photo over at panzerdiesel. Two Japanese officers taking a Tiger for a spin. Wouldn't that have been a nasty suprise for the Marines?

Great photo. I can see diorama potential here. A group of German and Japanese officers admiring the Tiger as 2 junior officers prepare for a demonstration ride. TamiyaCon here I come...

Yo, GS, that is what I was thinking. Something hypothetical, Tiger in that funky Japanese WW 2 camo sitting in hull down in a tropical jungle... I thought the picture was extremely cool, too.

Wonder why the Japanese never copied this, they could have used it in Mongolia against the Russians at war's end

Was Japanese industry capable of mass producing heavy armour late in the war? I know their aircraft industry was reduced to a shambles by the bombing campaign.
