Yeah, I know but they are still a bit too 'futuristic' looking for my tastes. Same reason I'm not an Iceman fan.

Found this thread browsing late at night. Great to see a few string bashers among the kitbashers. I will get some shots of my guitars and add to the discussion. I am a die hard blues/southern rock/bluegrass fan and played in a band for a few years before wife and kids and work took over.

Stay tuned (sorry for the pun) for photos coming soon.

Ha, story of my life too! I was in a bluegrass band in the late 70's and a 'country/rock' band in the early 80's
I'll try to get some shots of my guitars posted here in the near future.

Here are my 2 electrics, the SG has been identified as a mid-60's standard Gibson from the serial numbers, but all Gibson decals have been stripped off before I bought it (for $300). The Strat is a Lone Star, the 2 single coils and humbucker combo is perfect for me.

I will line up my acoustics soon for more . . .

Hi Charles,

Nice collection there, especially like the figuring on the hollow-body.
I went to see Stray Cats recently, first time they have been to Australia in 17 years. They absolutely blew me away. For a traditional 3-piece rockabilly unit to be going still and going strong is great to see, and Brian Setzer was in great form.

Can't wait to see your acoustic collection.

Cheers, D

Ok, acoustic time . . . . . .

First up is my Maton CW80 Custom Wideneck Dreadnaught. Real big neck and body and great mellow tone.

Then is my Sakura Dobro, Japanese manufacture with a real bright tone for slide.

Marvin oversees all activities here. There are also a Yamaha 12-string and the ubiquitous cheap nylon banger under the bed for later shots.

Cheers all, D

Lets see if I can get some shots of my acoustic stuff up today........

Charles

Very nice indeed Charles, you certainly are a Bluegrass fiend.

Nice axes! I'm a bassist meself, been playing on and off since the late '70s. Mostly into bands like Rush, Yes and Pink Floyd. Also into classic Motown and blues.

Good choices there. My listening is a bit more "edgy" on the bluegrass side. I am into the Dixie Dregs at the moment, Steve Morse blows me away. Also some Jerry Douglas, Bryan Sutton, Mike Auldridge etc.

One of my fave albums is called Skip, Hop and Wobble. It never fails to inspire me.

If you haven't got it or heard it, its essential.

Cheers all, D
