Pete,
Well what virus did it tell you was causing the infection? There is a heavy outbreak of the Klez.E Virus through e-mails lately. I have been getting about 4-5 emails a day trying to infect my machine but my anti-virus is blocking the attachments now.
I would run a full scan and make sure your virus profiles are up-to-date.

Me too Jim! I received the third one in less than 24hours!!! Don't open any "UNKNOWN" emails!!!
If someone here does not have an "antivirus" program you can get a free one here:
http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm
I use it and would highly recommend it! :-)

Follow up: It's the "W32/Klez.h@mm" virus and not the E version that is the big troublemaker lately. I got the above name off an email that comes after you have gotten several that bascially ADVERTISES how to get rid of the virus. But as it calls it Klez.E and not the above it would appear to be another attempt to disinform the user.

I know there are some limitations for our European friends with that program - like just a 30 day trial, but in any event, don't forget to run the update manager at least once a week - as with any antivirus program. :-)
Your welcome Arthur, and yes some people out there are sad bast____ indeed.
