Like someone already said, besides the vast logistic impossibility given by the ocean, Yamamoto was wise to warn that Americans are armed. Obviously from my username I am biased, but it is so. 60% of the US population has at least one gun, and despite the political idiocy around guns these days Americans have not yet been disarmed by their government.
Disarming a populace is always, check the history books, ALWAYS step one in subjugating a people.
