Ha Matt !
Great idea. Lead foil may be easy to come by in large quantities, the average supply is enough to last us for several lifetimes each. Why don't we ALL put a few cents together and buy a stock of lead-foil for the whole armorama community ?

Just an F.Y.I. I just foun out those rolls a $62.00 each. This is "medical grade" foil.
Maybe a survey of the thickness most wanted might help.

Where do you find metal toothpaste tubes? They seem to all be plastic, nowadays.

Yoda Man - I believe the Lead foil is a little sturdier, more maleable and a little more forgiving than Aluminum foil. The folds in Lead foil are a lot softer than you'll get with Aluminum foil.

How about the foil that vacuum packed coffee comes in? You get quite a bit for one pack.

Hey Yoda !
Lead foil can be used for making gun slings, equipment strap's, helmet strap's,
flag's draped over a vehicle for aerial identification - I think you get the point by now ( LOL ).
Also you can use other alternatives to LF such as aluminum foil lid's from Maxwell House coffee and also from a tip I got here ( can't recall from whom though - sorry ) yogurt foil lids.
As we know many house hold item's come in very handy in modeling, and those I just listed work every bit as well as lead foil.
TAKE CARE YODAMAN !

Ralph,
first thing that comes to my mind is the lead foil on wine bottles - you guys think of yoghurt foils. I hope this has nothing to do with European vs American culture ?
Happy 4/7 !
