Ralph,
first thing that comes to my mind is the lead foil on wine bottles - you guys think of yoghurt foils. I hope this has nothing to do with European vs American culture ?
Happy 4/7 !

Hi Gen.F - Good idea ! That's another to add to the list !

I hav my teeth cleaned this week and asked the dentist... well, they had about a pound of little "bites" in a canister and they gave it to me. It is perfect for small things... straps, flags, etc. It may even work, if used with putty and super glue for clothing, etc, as it is quite thin.

Guys - better than lead foil - and FAR CHEAPER... go to the craft store and you can find rolls of copper, tin, pewter, and aluminum in a variety of thicknesses. I buy a large roll (about 18 inches long, and 10 inches wide) of the thicker PEWTER, and it works wonderfully.... and at about 1/3 the price of lead foil. I have built entire tank turrents from the stuff, as well as bedrolls, blankets, tarps, capes, and tents... go check out Michael's or go to their website. This stuff is typically used by people doing "rubbings"....

For those who have asked about where to find PEWTER FOIL, here is a link to a craft shop online. Includes photo...

Hola!

I have been using the same brand that Keith is talking about, but Ive been using the medium and soft copper sheets and they work great. I think I paid about 7-8 bucks for each roll, about 18"x12" I'd say. Well worth the money.
