Now, you might say that landscaping isn't modelling, and that discussion might fill this site completely. However, this is big, and in scale.
I've lived and worked a bit in China and took a Google-tour around places I've visited over there. Suddenly I saw this landscape model in Inner Mongolia. A little more Googling took me to this real landscape further west. Zoom a bit in and out and compare the lakes and ridges. I just hope it's an old model, for old planning, so that we don't have to see something here in the near future.

Did you see the huge airbase to the North? Has underground hangers and everything! Missile defence areas.. They look as though they are on a war footing.

I'm not sure about war with India in the seventies, but at the factory I worked at we had a janitor who was a Vietnam war vet. The war in -78-79, that is. He was a man hard to stress . I guess we never got to hear half of that in the west.
