Ronny (Roadkill) has been in contact with the club that puts on a yearly anticipated event in Geel, Belgium. The event is a one day show and contest that will happen this year on September 14th. Here is what Ronny has posted in the Dutch forum on this (this is a translation from Dutch).

To all my European Modeling friends

Today I received a email from KMK Scale world with the proposal to attend their annual show on Sunday September 14, 2003 in Geel (Belgium)

[url=http://www.kmk-scaleworld.be/contest/wedstrijd.htm]KMK Scale World 2003

It is a small but friendly international one day modeling event consisting of a contest en vendors room and lots of friends.

You could say that KMK Scale world is a bit the home base of known modelers like Marijn Van Gils and Rudi Mair (just to name a few).

At last years edition I had the pleasure to meet some great names like Gino Poppe, Mario Eens, Phil Stutcinskas, so who knows who will be stopping by this year?

(Mario Eens, Marijn Van Gils en Phil Stutcinskas)

There is also a international selection of vendors present coming from Holland, Germany, England en France (so getting rid of your money is no problem)

(the well visited vendors room).

Now I need your help and advice:

How do you feel about a ArmoramA spot at a modeling-event, what would you like to see at those tables? (let the proposals come)

Who is willing to come to Belgium that day and represent ArmoramA with me (and hopefully others)?

Who wants to show his work?

If there are people who know that they can and will attend that day then they can let me know ASAP.

Considering the fact that KMK is organizing the available space and they want to know how much people will attend and how much space we need, I was thinking of letting them know by the end of next week what we will do

If you have any questions or you want to volunteer then mail me and we work something out ([email protected])

Ronny (Roadkill)

I have actually been thnking about the day we would do something like this for a big show here in the states (like IPMS Nats or AMPS). But if we can successfully organize and fund the costs of this event it would be great for some of our european members to be able to meet up and see their buddies at a show.

So who is interested? Suggestions about what we could do to make it memorable? I can try to get some special Armorama t-shirts made for this event. And Ronny is already thinking on name tags too.

We can use all the help we can get.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi,

Last year there where a lot of German, French and English visitors (beside the Belgium's and Dutch) although this is only a one day event.

If you don't live to far from the Belgium border and you are willing to visit and maybe even show a few models then just let me know.

I almost forgot.

A well known figure-painter Gino Poppe, is most likely to attend the meeting (like last year) and he will be planning to demonstrate his painting method for acrylic paints. For the figure painters among us, something that should be seen.

Jim

We already have talked a lot of this over and I`m already working on some name-tags for the event. The idea of T-shirts was also already mentioned and there was a lot of response for that.
I also will show work that I made since joining I even will show the difference of models before my Armorama Period and since my Armorama period (believe me that`s a big difference) I know for sure that a lot of people want to show their work. Another fun thing to have is print-outs and quotes of people who visited the site, became member, never left due to addiction :-) :-) these things printed and put on some cardboard (this thing is really only a suggestion but in the advertising world this really works good).

Another thing that works really well is printing Stickers with the Arorama Logo with the title "the friendly home for the military modeler" on it and the URL and nothing more.. Why is this??? People who are not familiar will look at the sticker. And they will get curious because there isn`t that much information on it. From the title and the design they know that it`s something bout modelers and that it sounds good due to the text "Friendly home". From out their curiosity they will visit the site and look around a bit and If they like it they will stay and they will tell it to other modelers wich then comes part two (mouth to mouth advertising) The best way of advertising you can get.
These are only a couple of suggestions

The date is already locked in my Agenda and that won`t change unless something really bad happens to me before that time. So I`m present in Geel to stand next to Ronny

I also think this is a real honour that Armorama is asked to promote their site on an event and I think it will happen more in the future if we are going on the way we are doing now. The Friendlyness and the non Elite behaviour of this site is noticed and the other (great) sites and clubs can`t deny us anymore so it`s only a matter of time before you have a stand on the IPMS Nats
