Hi guys,
Just thought i'd run this by you, which is your favourite website that you've ordered kits from? This could be armour, figures, planes etc, and why? Was it the cheapest?, did you like the service? etc. Im sure there are plenty of sites out there, but in this day and age its better to go with a reccomendation if you know what i mean. Also ive spent hours on the net trying to compare prices and kits, but i might have missed alot that are highly recommended!
Infact if possible why dont we start a list of reccomended suppliers? Im sure it will help a lot of people like myself who have returned back to the hobby!
What are your thoughts on all the above?
Regards
Martin

Squadron Mail Order.
www.squadron.comNice selction, decent prices and excellent service. I usually have what I order in 5 to 6 days. And they usually have what I'm looking for in stock. Can't speak to interntational service but domestic is awsome.

Again I can't speak to international orders, but for Canada... great service. Ordered at 1315, received an email at 1530 saying it was shipped. Arrived in the mail 5 days later.

I would recommend
www.ent-mart.comtheir price is much lower than Squadron
I ordered a TAMIYA 'Humvee' Armament Carrier from ent-mart.com only cost me $26.50
with air mail, arrived in 1 week, great service, highly recommend
but Squadron will charge me over $35 with shipping charge

Have to agree with Vitor on that one, I have seen the Hummer around for less that Squadron. But in 16 years buying from Squadron I feel they have done me well....

Missionmodels.com
Discountmodels.com
These two are the best of the best IMHO. Good selection, prices, and great service both domestic, (USA) and abroad from what I have heard. Another one that has a very large selection and good prices is Greatmodels.com. I have used greatmodels many times for hard to find items, with some stuff they take a while, not as service oriented as the other 2. I'm sure there are other good ones but these 3 I have had very good luck with.

Personally, for ww2 figs and dio accessories, I like GreatModels.com. Good selection and price. Next, VLS. I can get Wolf and Hornet thru them.
Also, had great service from Michael Roberts Limited recently. Received the order the day after I ordered it. Mega-kudos :-)

http://missionmodels.com Jon is a good guy to buy from. He knows the hobby. He will also attempt to find what you want if he dosen't have it.
Also, the site has some great stuff. :-)

Hi Martin,
I've used a few places in the UK,
www.kingkit.co.uk is a good site, they sell new 2nd hand kits & some harder to find stuff at very reasonable prices. I've also tried
www.hannants.co.uk, they are also good &
www.ontracks.co.uk Here is some others but I haven't used them personally.
www.modelsinmotion.co.uk sherwoodmodels.co.ukpier-models.co.uk I have other sites saved in my favourites for here in the UK & a few for overseas, if you would like them PM me and I'll send you them.
Hope you enjoy getting back into the hobby and this site is great and full of extremely helpful andd greatly skilled modellers.

Squadron mail order ships fast and usually has what they sell in stock.. It always arrive in short amount of time to!
I am also lucky enough to live near Model Expo in Hollywood Florida and they have the same same prices at their warehouse/store as on-line (Online saves 5%)

I'll add one nobody else has mentioned:
http://www.hobbyterra.comI've ordered rodan and maquette kits from there. The shipping was fast, reasonable, and the kit prices have to be seen. As an oddity, none of the kits were 'pre-boxed' - I think it helps them keep shipping costs down. When I opened the box, I found all of my kits neatly bagged in the box, with all of their boxes at the bottom, flat. The kits had never been boxed - I took out the stapler and spent the first 15 minutes with my new kits assembling their boxes. First time for everything....

I shop around for what is cheapest. If I want something real fast I use Squadron otherwise Great Hobbies or Michigan Discount. There is one in Utica New York, but it's accessable thru phone calls only.

In addition to all the others above, I would have to add rollmodels.com to the list. Not as speedy as others, but my items were always in stock and the price was good.

militaryhobbies.com and internethobbies.com are my primary sites. both are quite speedy (for me anyway).

(++) Model-Expo and Squadron are my favorites. i have ordered from a catalog I got in the mail from a company called "Historic Aviation". I bought the Hasegawa Bf 109G-6 for 19.95 plus shipping. It arrived within 2 weeks. All three companies offer great service and prices. Model Expo has the better prices and specials but Squadron has the best selection. I'm ashamed to say i don't order off the internet. Call me old fashioned. Jeff

I have ordered from Squadron and found the selection and service great. I have also ordered from Modelexpo and found the same. Made a small order with Internet Hobbies and was well satisfied with service. Frankly, I haven't had a bad experience yet on the internet relative to buying products.

There are reviews and links available off the home page of Armorama.
I have ordered from (and recommend):
HobbyHQ
Eastern Front Hobbies (Bob Lessels)
GreatModels
Squadron
ModelExpo
MichiganDiscountHobbies
HobbyLand
R&J Productions
NKR Models
The Barrel Store
AirConnection
Archer Fine Transfers
On The Mark Models
HobbyLink Japan
Andrea Miniatures
Michigan Toy Soldier
The latter two are for figures. The rest deal in armor, figures and more, although the Barrel Store, and Archer Fine Transfers sell barrels and transfers, respectively!
I do NOT recommend Platzdarm in Poland. I have been waiting 3 months for an order. According to an invoice I got the items shipped in March. After I contacted CCNow I got a message from Platzdarm stating that some items were in stock, and others were to be received soon. I'm not sure what will happen next...
Cheers

The only problem I get when checking out
www.lsamodels.fsnet.co.uk, I get a big black screen, and no list of what they have in store... what could be the problem ?

I have ordered the most from Greatmodels.com. I find there prices the best, and rarely am I in a huge hurry to get something.
Missionmodels.com is great, very fast service.
Hobbylink Japan also got me the goods at a really quick pace given that they are across the Pacific Ocean from me.
