I was Reading Osprey book How to paint Waffen SS figures by Calvin Tan
Into the book there are a few topics about epoxy putty, I was wondering How do you get the putty to go into flat sheets for use in the book it looks so easy making differnet pecies for the model straps buckles etc , I find when you try to roll the putty out into sheets for use it sticks to your hands and I cannot really work with it. I am trying to remodel two figures for my dio But just cant seem to get it right. Any advice about techniques would be very appreciated thanks.

Talcum powder...... Roll it on a piece of glass.. using a glass dowel if possible to control the thickness you could use guides as well.

Also, try rolling it between sheets of wax paper or Saran wrap -- plastic wrap used for food. plastic bags can even be used.

I take it to a general shape with my hands, then sandwich it between two layers of plastic wrap to take it to final thickness.

That's how I did this one, though I wish I'd made it a bit thinner (first try). Click on pic to see a bigger photo.
