Converting the Heller GMC CCKW353 ( duece and a half) to a short wheelbase CCKW352 gun tractor. Going well, except for the lack of clear locations for some of the bonnet ( hood) sides and mudguards. A case of glueing all the pieces and adjusting until they fit ok.
Next step is to paint 12 wheels and tyres, and I'm not looking forward to that bit! On the Dodge it was easy as the intended weathering meant that they were painted earth and then just scuffed with the rubber colour, but these won't be that dirty. Then build the rear bed using Mr Roo's excellent drawings, and bending plastic rod to make the tilt frames. Should take a few days getting those two stages done.
