Does anyone know where I can get some disposable measuring cups? I am going to be working with resin and need something I can use for measuring it.

When I pour resin I measure in ounces or grams. I use a small food scale I got at a local wall mart - department store. I zero it out with a small bathroom dixie cup or other suitable mixing container and then pour in my resin.

If you do need measuring cups you can look at using aluminum foil and line a good solid measuring cup. Then carefully remove the formed aluminum foil and it should be pretty close to the right size. Thats one thought.

Bathroom Dixie cups are great for this kind of thing too. You can get picnic cups in plastic or paper. Then you measure some water in a measuring cup and pour it in the disposable one. Mark a line at the top of the water. Pour the water out and you've got a disposable measuruing cup.

If you know anyone who works at a hospital or doctor's office, get them to bring you some urine cups (unused please). These work well.

one thing i've found for measuring and mixing resin is those small plastic cups that fast food and other reastrants use.. there are in general 2 sized.. a small size (usely used for ketsup at the condiment bar) and this size is really too small. the larger size is harder to find and is just right. I use a ruler and a pen to mark off measurements. I then pour them into small dixie cups for mixing. and best of all they are free.

Check your phone book yellow pages under medical supplies (nurses uniforms and stuff). I found measureing cups there with grams, milgrams, teaspoons and oz. markings along the side. Also comes in handy when mixing paint.
