Depends. The COD series has a strong single-player campaign, something all BF games have never had. As far as the modern genre of shooters, yea it kinda feels the same. A good match on COD multiplayer has always been incredibly fast-paced, BF generally wasn't as much.

I spend $61.90 SGD last night and spend 5hrs the whole night on COD, i wouldnt say its money well spend. I have to admit the following
1) COD 4 surpass BF2 in the aspect of graphic and the surrounding environment was quite realistic especially the mission where the marines had to escort the tank war pig out an alley. For a short moment i felt like i was way back in training when i was in the army. Passing thru, i couldnt help but think about the real Marines launching their mission in Iraq.
2) BF2 didnt have a strong single player mode, it was more of a bot war and bots have limitations. But on the multi player arena, BF2 offers a larger scale of ops and team effort really take a place in the rounds. Commander s ability to assist information, providing air drops, etc makes the operation more realistic and tactical.
3) COD 4 on multiplayer is just a super hype counter strike, for a glimpse, it was like Counter Strike with soldiers and running in a small predictable map. Planting a bomb? Thats familiar.
4) All in all, i would say 5 stars for graphic and single player for COD4. But for the experience and the satisfaction of promotions and team work, i would say BF2 still leads the way and i still see myself clocking more hours on BF2.

COD4 is awesome and the single player is the best I have ever played. You get to even man the guns on an AC130 Spectre gunship.

Multiplayer online is already RIDDLED with cheaters. I've never seen anything like it. There is even a simple client-side mod that takes a mere 10 seconds to do and it will give you ultimate rank and all the weapons and special abilities for online play!
