Hi again.
Taking a survey to see if other modelers build airplanes or just stay with the AFV's
If so do you like WWII or the modern big jet type.

I try to do at least one a year.

I’ve got 2 planes complete and 6 in the stash.
So far what I have are mostly WWII but I do want to get some jets as well.

I alternate between AFV and Aircraft and have a pretty good stash of planes and helicopters these days.
I find it a good way to keep fresh and motivated in the hobby.

I have a huge backlog of airplane kits - primarily aircraft from Saab or used by the Swedish AF. Please don't ask about my fetish for things Swedish, I really don't know.

I build about everything except for si-fi. Most of my builds are Aircraft mostly Helicopter. In the last 2 years I've finished many jets.
1/48th Prowler/Intruder (2) each
1/48th Harrier
1/48th A-10
1/48th Phantom
And here is what I've started, 1/32nd Phantom, A-10 N/AW, 1/48th S-3A Viking, MIG-21 and a C-130 that I've been building on and off the last 3 years.

I started out building aircraft, switched to ships, switched the AFV, nad now I am looking at some aircraft and ships to work on.
I had orignally decided to start building models again to build the ship I was on in the Navy. So, I stopped at AFV's. Go figure.

My first models were airplanes. The box full of sticks and a hunk of tissue paper. After crashing a few I switched to cars and trucks. I've built a lot of different things. I would like to build some 1:87 scale planes. (If there are any) Maybe bi-planes or some small private planes. The P-51 is my favorite plane, not only because of the way it looks but mostly because of the sound. Once you hear one you never forget that sound.

I build aircraft, ETO US, to be specific. Of course, I've only built two, Revell's 1/48 B-17 and P-51, and only two tanks as well. They give a nice break from armor.

I occasionally build a WWI or WWII aircraft kit. I recently built a Testor's 1/48 scale Spad.

I like the lawn darts, especially early to middle Cold War era. I have some WWII birds, but most of those are bombers.

I'll build aeroplanes quite happily. Have built a 1/32 Grumman Martlet and a 1/32 Beaufighter and plan to build a 1/48 Liberator and hopefully soon a 1/24 Harrier.

I started with aircraft, mainly WW II allies, then did a few modern US Jets (worked on them so had to build them!) Got frustrated with the cockpits not coming out very nice (ugh!) so then started to get into armor...German 251 series half-tracks...still scratching my head about that (more interiors!), but have managed to finish a few of them to my liking. Now am mainly building German WW II armor, mostly AA related vehicles, and more 251's and Panther variants.
Have a couple of planes in the pile, maybe one day will go back to a couple for a little break from the "targets".
Cheers!
Tim

I make aircraft exclusively - I guess it was the first things that I made when I started to make kits many years ago, and now that I've recently returned to the hobby, I've just stuck with them - mainly 1/72 scale fmodern jet fighters, and WW2 fighters.
Just finished an Airfix 1/72 C130 Herc, which turned out be a bit average (but I'm pleased with the end result), and have a couple of Tamiyas coming up shorlty ( a Jaguar, and a Phantom). Looking forward to having a go at those.

Good to hear of so many I think I will like trying a few to break the tone of AFV's all the time.

I think you'll like the change of pace, Jeff. I'd take a look at some of the Tamiya kits. They build up really nicely.
And for what it's worth, I go beyond just AFV and aircraft. I've got a little sci-fi and a few ships in the mix as well, just to keep things challenging.
