I have revised the description in the avatar gallery to show both the file size rule (less than 10Kb) and also posted that no animated avatars be allowed. This will have to be done somewhat on an honor system for a while until I can get some codework in place to force the size and allow for avatars to be suspended if people are not following the rules.

Please follow the rules.

Thanks,
Jim

Howdy Jim

Many thx as always for your continuing superhuman efforts to make this place better and better all the time.

And, as I said how many years ago now?...........my original 'custom' avatar is still the bomb! And I genuinely appreciate having it all this time...........

Andreas,
If you go to the area in the gallery where the avatars are stored, and click on the thumbnail of your avatar, and then click on the "EDIT" link down below the image, you will see a place to both re-upload a new image or select delete to remove the image.

Of course you will need to again be logged into the gallery to do this.

Cheers,
Jim

Maybe I'm just too tired I want to change my avatar, but can't figure out for the life of me how to do it. Somebody please clue me in. Thanks, "Q"

On your My Account > Edit profile page there is a link next to the avatar images that says upload photo. Upload a custom photo to the gallery in the area linked to and that's it.

Cheers,
Jim
