introduction
While building some aircraft models recently, several people inquired about a stand I had photographed my models on. It is called the FlexiDisplay and is Available in three differing arm lengths, 2.5”, 4”, and 6” and two differing base shapes, square and round.
capability
Mine has the 4” arm length and the square base and the stand is made of clear acrylic and is easy to assemble using a small Phillips head screwdriver. One of the aircraft I used it on was a 1/144 Warning Star that featured a lot of blade antennas along the spine and belly of the aircraft. Had I not had this nifty little stand, I would have found it extremely hard to add the antennas with out breaking things. The days of finding the paint jar of the correct height to use as a make shift jack stand are over! It was also a benefit to have for the decal work that followed as I didn’t have to handle the model nearly as much. Mount one on a small turntable and it becomes a great rotating paint stand, decal stand etc.
The three arms are fully adjustable to hold a variety of model types from planes, to cars, and even armor. The adjustable arms have soft rubber tips to help avoid marring the model surface. Suggested maximum weight is listed as 2lbs. I bought mine at a local hobby shop for about $20 USD although they are available
Online for less depending. I liked them enough that I bought two more for my larger builds. A great tool to add to the bench!
