In-Box Review
Autumn Cattle Pastures

by: Frederick Boucher [ JPTRR ]

Grasses and tufts, leaves, trees and flowers are all available. They include the seasons from winter, spring, summer and autumn, early and late periods, the grass being 2mm, 5mm & 8 mm in height. The matts are available with and without weeds. Flowering meadows, prairies and moorlands are produced.

Cow Pastures with Tufts I present to you. It is a 12" X 19" mat covered with a base of 2mm tall short grass, in which tufts of 6mm height are randomly placed all over. Silflor® also offers a cattle pasture mat covered with dung plies, a.k.a. ‘cow patties’( or “Molehills”, if you are squeamish.)

I will not attempt to describe the technical characteristics of this pasture matt. The photos are worth a thousand words. Illustrated is this product photographed out of doors on a sunny late autumn afternoon, upon which I set the following models:
• 1/35 KV-85
• 1/48 Fokker Triplane and pilot
• 1/72 Pfalz D.XII
• 1/72 Japanese aircraft service vehicles
• HO (1/87) horses and wagon
• HO 40' boxcar

All Silflor® products blend with each other. Practically any temperate landscape can be reproduced with incredible realism. Silflor’s® only drawback is the price. RECOMMEND.

I thank David of the Southern Switchmen for generously loaning me this product to share with you.

About Frederick Boucher (JPTRR)

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...
