Here is my entry. I still need to add hinges and shelves as I find needs for them but other that it is ready to go for my use. It is ment to fold up into a box, self containing all of the brushes and paints and whatnot I use. It also has a built in light.

Stage one was building the base.

Next was adding a back and sides. Note, the block of 2X4 on the right will be drilled to hold atists penciles when I get some.

Then I added a florescent light

And ran the wiring out the back

Then I added doors and pegs to hang certain items on. As long as an instruction sheet clip to hold my plans and some other variouse clips to hold parts and such.

Once I add the hinges and a handle it will be complete and ready to fold up and go wherever I want to work, be it the dining room table, outside on a nice day, or stowed away on a card table in the utility room. Complete with my own source of lighting.

Hope you all enjoy.

Being new here I am not sure, is there anything else I need to do? Do I need to upload the photos anywhere else? Thanks.

The light is the best touch on it - well done. Nice to see another tool added to the list.

Thanks. I made it to help me evade my kids and make it easy for me to put my stuff up and kep them out of it. I made it out of all scrap wood I had laying around. I got about $25.00 in it.

I stocked up on more model making supplies today and need to add more shelves, to the sides and to the inside of the doors. This will take me a while probably. Is it ok for now how it is? Thanks.

OK, hinges are on and so is the carry handle. This sucker is heavy but still very moveable. I was unable to proceed with installing the door shelves because I am still not sure on exactly how I want to do it yet but I have a rough sketch of where and what is supposed to be on the doors. Here is the final photos of it. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Stephen, I think you could darned near market that puppy! It's great! No muss, no fuss, just a little bit of muscle power and you can model where-the-heck-ever you want to. That's perfect for those of us who have had to do our modelling on the kitchen table - when it wasn't covered in everybody else's...... stuff.

Well done!

Thanks, I just might do that some day. If I do I would make any more out of 1/4" plywood to make it a bit lighter. That 3/4" stuff is just too darn heavy. I can not wait to get my airbrush in to see how it fits in the door shelf I made for it.

Does this count as a portable work bench? It's in the bunk area of my truck
