my two latest projects are tamiya's 1/35 char b1-bis tank and 1/48 f-16C block 50. walang problema sa char b1 pero medyo nahihirapan ako humanap ng light ghost grey for the viper. sa spray can lang yun sa tamiya (AS-26) at wala akong makitang light ghost grey sa gunze sangyo na binebenta dito. is light gull grey a close match? meron kasi nun sa gunze line.

i plan to finish both projects over the coming weekend so sana may makasagot sa tanong ko. di kasi ako well-versed sa paint scheme ng modern US fighters e.

help! shonen_red, anybody?

Steelskin,

Sorry but i rarely make modern jet fighters. The last one was an Academy 1:72 Tomcat way back 2005. Wish i could help in some other way.

Fairfax

arkuo,

medyo maikli kasi ang attention span ko e--sakit daw yan ng mtv generation . i tend to jump from one project to another pag bored na ako or medyo nagka-setback sa isang kit (e.g., walang makitang paint). hope you’re making progress with the dio. pag hindi lumabas na disaster yung char, i might post some pics, hehehe…

fairfax,

i’m more of a WW2 armor guy myself. this is my first modern aircraft. actually it’s the third i’ve started (the first one was revell’s Mi-24 Hind D and the second was italeri’s 1/72 MV-22 osprey) but it looks like i’ll be finishing this one first. i’ve mostly done WW2 armor and planes (a spitfire and a focke wulf). ayoko sana sumablay sa accuracy ng kulay dahil usually sablay na ako sa painting skills. hahaha...anyway, thanks for the reply.

I'm not sure about colors, since Tamiya only made them in enamel bottles as their basic line of colors Kaya mo bang gumamit ng laquer? Pwede mo kasing i-extract yung contents nung spray can tapos transfer mo sa bottle, for airbrushing. Else, mix and match na lang talaga

musta tol. yan nga sana ang plano ko. actually nagawa ko na yan several times (transferring the contents of the can and using an airbrush to spray it on). ang problem ko is wala raw stock ng AS-26 (yun ngang light ghost grey sa spray can) ang lil's. medyo matagal na rin yun. but i tried arkuo's suggestion and it looks okay naman.

P.S

baka pala may makabasa nito na taga-QC, you guys might want to check out the second level of the new trinoma mall in front of sm north. may lil's na rin daw dun. great news for me kasi di ko na kailangang pumunta ng megamall for supplies.

Sir,

currently producing a F22. Light ghost Gray is equivalent to- Humbrol 127 or Gunze H308 or Model Master 1728.

Hope this helps. cheers.
Note: Have a friend producing a local blend acrylic latex of light ghost gray. Can get you sample if you like to try.

gunze H308? i'll try to look for it next tym. right now i'm trying arkuo's suggestion. last night, i actually mixed up a trial batch to test on the weapons load and it looks promising.

mukhang din interesting yang local blend ng kaibigan mo. how do we get hold of the sample? also, san ka naman kumukuha ng model master at humbrol paints? salamat pala sa info. sorry i wasn't able to reply immediately. alam mo naman ang trabaho, minsan istorbo sa hobby.
