This is my attempt at a scatch build for ACUTR.

Its a Russian armoured train.

Still to fill and file some parts and find wheels to fit but if worst comes to the worst will scratch them as well

Dad (Barv) say's it looks ok so Im happy at the moment

Looking good and a very unusual subject. I'm looking forward to seeing this take shape. BTW, any idea what the name translates into?

Regards,
Rich

Hi Rich,
I believe it is named after a Russian President who along with one or two others who headed the war of liberation of the Russian people against the Lithuanian and Polish interventionists which ended with the expulsion of the invaders from the Kremlin in 1612.

Very nice! See, it's not so hard once you get the hang of it. Now, what are you going to do for the rivets? I'm thinking that dress maker pin heads would be too large...as for the wheels{drivers and idlers} I'd suggest a compass and rough cut them out, then sand them round...one could drill a small hole in the center of all the drivers{then idlers}, chuck them in a dremel cut off wheel shank and hold a sanding stick or sanding block to the plastic and turn them down{an extra pair of hands would be useful or clamp the dremel tool to a table top}. Do the inner size and outer sized{flanges} pieces sepparately and glue together to make a wheel{same for the idler wheels}. "Spoked wheels" are fun{not!} since you need to cut and file out all the spoke holes, but since that wheel shroud is so low, you could cheat and leave them solid or just paint spoke holes!

Hi Bob,
Thought I might be a wee bit sneaky as you won't really see underneath I was going to use half a wheel showing, as you have said the side panels are quite low and you won't see all of it .

Hi Johan
It's been all stop on the model (and any modeling) just now what with looking after my wee 2 year old and kids being off school for the summer (6 weeks) they have just gone back this month so hopefully start doing something soon.
As for pictures , the only one I have is the one on here along with the plans.
What scale would you like to do it in ? Mine is roughly 1/72.

The last bit of modeling I done was my rendition of Iwo Jima

Hi Steve

I will do a 1/35 project. Its nearly ready to go as I measured most panels, etc... on the plans you have shared.

I will keep you posted and keep looking at this forum post too

Good luck modelling
Johan
