A true pioneer has left us. Walter Schirra died at age 84. The only astronaut to fly in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.

I'm always in awe of anyone with the nerve to be an astronaut but those guys in the early days were something else.

Just saw this post, I didn't know he passed away. A true pioneer, a brave man, a gifted flyer and a pathfinder for all that followed.
