Which is better to buy? A office note pad?

A self healing cutting mat in A3 or so size?

Where can you find the notepads here in the UK?

Hi,

I personally prefer self healing cutting mat for general kit building (not inclusive of PE).

A4 will suffice, A3 too bit.
Cheers!

Definitely the cutting mat. Very useful. I'd check the UK equivalent of an office supply store.

if you have a Maplins (Electronics Shop) near you pop in there and get an A4 one for £2.99 - CBS16S .

They also do a few other items which you can use for modeling. They have a online service as well www.maplin.co.uk.

When I started back into modeling I brought quite a bit from there. Check out the Hand Tools section.

Look for cutting boards in sewing/quilting shops ... a good brand is Olfa.

Jan~ You'll struggle to write down the things you need on a cutting mat
But seriously, if you have the equivalent of $2 shops (Imported Chinese stuff) they generally have green cutting mats for damn cheap lolly... varying sizes up to A3 also...
Cheers

Definitely the cutting mats! I have two of them that I used saying when I do find them cheap, I might as well get an extra just in case.

Try 'The Works' they usually have cheapo cutting mats with the art supplies, just don't spill any glue on them or the printed-on lines will dissolve (apparently). I bought a slightly more expensive A4 one from EXPO (IIRC) and haven't dissolved the lines on that one yet!

Best bet is to convert the SWG (Standard Wire Gauge) to a sensible measurement of diameter and work out which size works best with what you've looking for. This one is sort of helpful, but would have been better in mm and not cm.
