Heard today that the (sort of) sequel will be shot here in Melbourne town...
Hanks, Spielberg and the gang will be filming for about a year IIHC, and the basic story premise is following the US armed forces when based here in Oz (notably Melbn where there were tens of thousands of them) and their actions in the PTO.
Caused a bidduva stir in the media today

I heard that project had been under consideration a couple years back. Glad to hear that it has passed beyond the rumor stage. That is super, a good classic fighting the Japanese series to go along with the ETO. And I get to live and see it. Hope it doesn't take too many years. My dad even though he is quite healthy is getting up into those middle 80's range and I know he would especially love to see it as he is a Saipan and Okinawa vet.

I saw on television last night that the plan is to release "Band of Brothers, Pacific Theater" in 2009.

I don't know what the exact title will be but that is the planned release date.
