Lately - last week or so ... this site has become oh so slow. I'm on a high speed Comcast cable connection and all my other sites pop up instantly but Kitmaker/Armorama goes into waite state constantly these days.
Anybody else having this problem?

Yesterday was fine (at hime) speed/connection wise.
This morning (4/23) I am timing out on the connection it is so slow.
After half dozen attempts I am finally able to see the forums and post this.

Yep, exactly the same for me. Mentioned it on another thread the other day.

i get it sometimes too....connection times out and I get DNS error 404 through internet explorer....

I've got high speed cable from bright house/ road runner in Tampa FLorida, US and A

some slowness may be due to not archiving old posts??? not sure...but I am reading post from across the pond....so...I'm happy with a 200 ping to Europe any day for gaming....or forum whoring...

I'll see some of you blokes in BAttle of Britain: Storm Of War sim game in the future!!!

salute!!!

Some areas are slower than others (the gallery for example). The Latest Posts page just came up for me in: PAGE GENERATED IN 2.4246 SECONDS

That is actually about normal (or a bit faster than normal). As I have said before this is a very database intensive site. About 10x more than most other hobbyist site out there (as we actually keep ALL content in the database and not just the forums (which also are not hosted by sites like ML, Hyperscale, and others.

However that doesn't mean I am not constantly trying to improve site performance. It's just that the bigger we get the more that performance is a challenge. Moving the gallery to a different server should help once i can get past the database connectivity thru our firewall appliance.

Thanks,
Jim
