Does anyone know the time and date of the Brisbane swap meet this year I think it is around Aspley in early May.

A time , date and address would be great.

Paul

The flyer I have for PX2007 says:

Aspley East State School in the assembly hall. Enter of Clorane Street.

12 May (day before Mothers day) 7.30am set up and doors open at 8.30am.

$2.00 for buyers and $5.00 for sellers, pay at the door.

It will be my first one so I'm hoping for a bargain Mother's day present. My reasoning being that if I get something good then I will be in my hobby room and not pestering Mother for the day.

Hi guys.

Is it really worth going? I'm in Toowoomba so the early start and drive is kinda putting me off going.

Cheers

Shane

I haven't been to one before so can't comment. I have been told that there are usually very good bargains there.... but that can depend on what you are interested in and how much you have/want to spend.

Certainly to drive from Toowoomba to maybe get 1 half priced Dragon 3 in 1 kit (that is if there are any there) is a false economy. Why not pack a picnic lunch and head down to Sandgate or Redcliffe for some time beside the sea and just happen to drop in on you way?

Ian - Mate if you look anything like your avatar I will spot you there.

I will be walking aroun oggling models and wearing my Mackay Scale Model club shirt so kick me in the shins and say "Hi" if you see me.

Hi

I have been for the last couple of years. I find that there is a lot of Tamiya stuff there because of dragons new stuff. I like Tamiya tanks and you can often pick them up for a third of the price that they are in shops.

If you don't have a huge collection of model kits then its great becuse you could save heaps on Tamiya and other brands. Sometimes you can pick up some old OOP kits too. There is dragon stuff there to, but don't expect to get huge savings on kits that have been released lately because I don't think you will. If your just looking for one kit and that's it well it may not be worth going.

There are also normally plenty of boats, planes, car kits and sometimes a little sci-fi.
My advice is get there early as there is normally a rush at the start.
Thanks

My 2 wargaming mates and I are going thru our 1/72.76 stashes oops collections and I also have some rare kits (1/12 Tyrell 8 wheeler F1 car and an old Aurora cessna as well as 54mm airfix cavalry. so I hope I can unload(sell) them to get them out from under my feet.

I didn't end up going. The crew had "plans". I think someone leaked them info on the swap meet.

I hope those that went sold well and/or bought well.

Sorry for the delay in answering this one - I went I saw I conquered - well I sold over 3 boxes of stuff and made $200 and also bought an Aussie Chopper. Was a great day - missed a lot of neat stuff - hope to go again next year- this time to sell som old made up models.
