Hi,
looking for plans to build a single 40mm Bofor with naval mount. I would prefer 1/32 scale but I could resize any.
Thanks, danny

Sorry, no plans for you, but....If you are willing to wait a little while, Italeri is supposed to be releasing the 40mm Bofors mount out of their new 1/35 Elco 80' PT boat as a separate kit. Check it out here (scroll down).

Thanks,

Chief; I had seen the 1/72 by White Ensign Models and you are right. It is nice! Just wished they made one in 1/32.

General; I was eyeing the the Italeri new 1/35 Elco 80' PT boat. Even considered it just for the Bofor. Just couldn't justify the cost. But if they are going to release the Bofor as a seprate kit I may want several! .... Depending on the cost. I'm not in a big hurry, but any insite as to a release date?

Thanks again
Gunny

Quite honestly, mate, nothing solid yet as a release date. . .slated as a 2007 release, but. . .keep yer fingers crossed!

Hi!
I forgot to mention it yesterday, but MASTERS Productions, Resin Kit 35004, (E-Mail Address: [email protected]), has a conversion (kit) GMC (for the) 40MM BOFORS.
I think it ( the Bofors) is (SLIGHTLY!) better than the one included with the Italeri Scale 1/35- 80'Elco, though A LOT could be done to make it even better!
Regards,
"Pete".

Digging a little deeper there is a 1/32 Scale 40MM Bofors available through the Floating Drydock- HR Fittings, #S32-18, $19,80.
(S32-14 is a 40mm clip, $.40)
Address:The Floating Drydock,P.O.Box 9587,Treasure Island,Fl.33740
E-Mail:[email protected]

Department of the Army Technical Manual TM 9-1252, March 1951, contains a lot of useful drawings and images on the 40MM Automatic Gun M1, the Frame platform Groupof mount M3 or same for carriage M2A1, Parts of footrest and front firing pedal assembies, Firing linkage for M2A1 and M3, Hand traversing gear case mechanism, Elevating gear for Gun M1 and-M2, and much, much more!
Great for super-detailing a PT-Boat mount!

I picked up the Floating Drydock Bofors a few years ago to add to my 1/32 PT, the bofors kit is OK, it needs to have clean up on all parts, the detail is not crisp and the instructions are a one diagram exploded view. Other than that, it's a great kit! If you have to have the bofors kit, I'd wait on the Italeri kt to be released.

Hi Pete,

I was away for a week and just noticed your thread. Those plans are what I am looking for. Would you be able to email them? If not, how about a photo copy and I'll pay you for the copies and shipping?

Thanks, Danny
