I was reading the Indianapolis Star this morning and they said he wasn't going to speak in Indy on the 27th because of injuries he suffered in a fall. I was thinking about going down for the lecture. (He was born in Indy.) They said he son was going to speak instead.
Then I get to work and see on the Interwebs that he passed away.
Sad. Great writer...

A true original. Here's to you Mr Funny gut. I read a lot of his books in my twenties mostly on guard duty or gate duty. They helped to make the time worthwhile. 84 years old- I hope I make it that long.
