Okay, let me start off first with what I am doing to give enough background. I have an Iwata, spraying unthinned Dark Gull Gray Model Master Acryl at 25PSI.
I was painting a 1/72 ME109 last night, first time I have sprayed in quite some time. As I was building up layers to cover my pre-shading of the panel lines, I noticed one wing that I had painted displayed a beautiful, flat paint surface with just maybe a few spatter marks (because i have a tendency to stop and start the brush while over my work). As for the other wing, it appeared very very glossy. To the point that you would think I was using gloss paint with about the same level of spatter. I thought I might have put it on too thick, but my pre-shading is still visible through it, which to me says there isn't a heavy coat on the wing.
I have never been super good at airbrushing, I cannot do any special effects and always seem to have problems like this.

Might be the way the paint was mixed. the MM Acryl can be weird at times.

I think I got it figured out, I pumped up to 30PSI and also added a little jet dry (2 drops) into the paint to thin it and break the surface tension. It worked like a charm, and the brush was 10x easier to clean up afterwards. I also think the other part of the problem was spraying on an un-primed model. I lightly sanded the paint that I had laid down and the next coat was perfect. When I flipped it over to do the same, the problem did re-occur a little bit.
I guess I am too hard on myself expecting to be an ace my first time out. At least I am trying to learn on inexpensive 1/72 models.

Yep, takes alot of practice. Model Master Acryl does not make it easy either but I love the color selection and they are readily available at my LHS.
