Lola T-70:

If you can make black marks
on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner
until the braking point of the next turn,
then you have enough horse power!

The first car I put my hard earned cash into.

I certainly wished I had kept it. They are worth a few shekels these days.

Howdy fellas,

Really great pictures All!

to Jan: Always been a fan of BLUE......but that Prancher brings red neck & neck

to Grumpy: Isn't that a Nash Metropolitan?......my neighbour {this is back in the sixties} had a blue over white one...a ragtop too.

to A-Train: Ya know, as soon as I scrolled down amd saw your pic, I thought.....Lotus 7. Obviously your Dad was influenced by that rather nifty little british sportcar.
Didn't Patrick McGoohan {sp?} have a penchant for Lotus 7's ?............." you are a number"........

to Al: Thanks!!.........now I've got to go out and find a DVD copy of the movie 'Le Mans'!.........loved that flick. Saw it when it first came out in the cinema back in the 70's.....terrible movie, but what racing footage!!!!
I even bought the vinyl LP soundtrack back then, just to hear the Porsche engines scream........anybody here remember the great POV shots during the crash scenes?

BTW Al, in your 3rd shot [the one with Mark Donohue's car}, the wee red job sitting behind it?......I used to own one of those.....a 930 turbo complete with racing fender flares and 'whale' tail, only it was blue.
Absolutely beautiful vehicle!.......miss it.

Tread.

Well some nice cars there but the Classic of all Classics is this vehicle... Sport and style mixed together into one beautiful vehicle

Sadly I don't have E-type money so for a first car I have set my goal on this vehicle... A nice piece of swedish design car from the 60's The indestructible Volvo Amazon

Classic cars.... They are just so much nicer then the tin Junk that is coming onto the Market lately

Here is a good one for ya..............

1959 Jaguar XK150. My uncle had the same car and was the original owner. The only differance was his was brown. It was mint condition and garage kept its entire life. In 1997, it was appraised at 90-100 grand. God only knows what it would be worth today. That was the year before my uncle passed away. He never let his sons (to call them idiots would be a compliment!) drive the car. So, needless to say, after he passed away, they took it for ONE ride and wrecked the car. But wait, it gets worse. The only person who was insured to drive the car was my uncle. So, no $$$$$$$$ from the insurance company. Worse then that, they didnt even try to salvage parts from the car, they towed it to a junk yard. And they wonder why I dont speak to them anymore

For American KitMaker networkers the Australian version of a Chevy; the mighty Holden...

1960 Holden FB Stationwagen

An FB almost identical to this one was owned by the family for years before age and the dreaded tin worm got to it. An Australian classic.

1961 Holden EK, tastefully tweaked

1961 Holden EK even more tweaked

Edit: A Russian Classic. Lada on ice. Couldn't resist this one
