Hi All

I know this is a little off topic(?), but I recently finished reading Michael Barthorps new book ' Slogging over Africa: The Boer Wars 1880 - 1902.
I must say an excellent read. The Boer War is an area of avid interest for me and I must say, a sadly neglected area of modelling, as I think are many colonial periods.

I have both Thomas Packenhams books, The Boer War, 2nd and 3rd editions, but this one is concise overview of the war with excellent photos and the writing is of an excellent standard. Barthorp really knows his stuff. I know these periods,i.e Zulu War, Boer War etc. are mainly figure stuff, but maybe there is opportunity here for some really good material.

The book was about R150.00 from Exclusive Books.

Anyway, thought you guys may be interested!!

All the best

Garth
